The CPKC Holiday Train is returning to Merrickville on Friday, November 28, 2025, to celebrate its 27th season of visiting communities across the CPKC network and helping those in need. 

Thanks to the generous support of great communities like yours, the Holiday Train has raised over $26.1 million and over 5.45 million pounds of food since 1999 to help people struggling with food insecurity. With your help, we can continue to raise food, money and awareness for people facing hunger issues across North America.  

Merrickville Ontario, October 2025 - Rideau Community Health Services (RCHS) is proud to announce Heritage Stables as the recipient of the 2025 Community Recognition Award. The award was presented on October 3, 2025, at Heritage Stables by Michele Bellows, RCHS CEO, and Sandra Shaw, Board Chair. 

The health and wellbeing of our communities depend on strong partnerships and coordinated, accessible services. Across Ontario, Community Health Centres (CHCs) play a vital role in making this possible. Rideau Community Health Services (RCHS), with locations in Merrickville, Smiths Falls, Brockville, and Perth, is proud to be part of this province-wide network of CHCs.

Rideau Community Health Services (RCHS) is committed to providing quality care in a welcoming environment. To better serve our community, we will be making interior building improvements this summer.

Our Merrickville site is temporarily closed for renovations and will re-open on Monday, September 15th. If your appointment is affected, a member of our team will contact you directly to make alternate arrangements. Rideau Community Health Services warmly invites you to a special event in honour of our volunteers, community partners, and more than 50 years in the community.

Join us on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Merrickville Community Centre, 106 Read Street, Merrickville.

Rideau Community Health Services – Easter Long Weekend Closure

Rideau Community Health Services (RCHS) will be closed from Friday, April 18, to Monday, April 21. We will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, April 22.

Urgent and same-day appointments will be available on Monday, April 21st between 8:30am-11:30am at the Merrickville Site for registered Primary Care Clients only. Call 613-269-3400 to book an appointment.

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train never disappoints, and this year was no exception! The train rolled into Merrickville at 4:45pm on November 28th, to the approximately 2,500 people waiting in anticipation!

The 2024 stop brought in approximately 1,100 pounds of food and $2,700.00 in monetary donations, gratefully collected thanks to the generosity of all those who attended, and of course, CPKC’s very gracious cheque presentation of $4,000.00.

Heritage Stables in Merrickville to host RCMP Musical Ride this summer!

The RCMP Musical Ride is coming to Merrickville on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024. We are thrilled to announce that a portion of the proceeds will go to Rideau Community Health Services, in support of our Food Cupboard Program at our Merrickville site. 

2024 RCHS Community Recognition Award

The Board of Directors and staff of Rideau Community Health Services (RCHS) are pleased to announce that The Cooperative Care Centre (CCC) in Brockville is this year’s recipient of our annual Community Recognition Award. This award, which was created in 2017, recognizes an individual or group who makes significant contributions to the communities we serve.
