In recognition of National Volunteer Week, we were pleased to host a Volunteer Appreciation Brunch on Saturday, April 18 at our Merrickville location.
The event brought together many of the dedicated volunteers who play an essential role in supporting our programs and services. From helping to sustain our food cupboard program to contributing their time and energy across our organization, our volunteers are at the heart of the care and support we provide to the community.
Volunteerism is a powerful expression of compassion and community spirit. The commitment our volunteers show—week after week—helps ensure that individuals and families have access to the resources and supports they need, close to home. Their contributions strengthen not only our organization, but the broader community we serve.
We extend our sincere thanks to Merrickville Legion for generously hosting the brunch and helping us create a warm and welcoming space to celebrate.
We were also honoured to welcome local artist Maureen McAuliff, who created a beautiful painting of our Merrickville site. The artwork was featured on thank-you cards presented to our volunteers and has been donated to the health centre, where it will be proudly displayed as a lasting symbol of appreciation and community connection.
Events like this provide an opportunity to pause and recognize the extraordinary impact of our volunteers. Their kindness, dedication, and generosity are truly invaluable.
To all of our volunteers—thank you. Your contributions make a difference every day, and we are deeply grateful.
