Irv Mazurkiewicz

Irv began his working life in the private sector, then had the pleasure of moving to Parks Canada for 34 years. While at Parks Canada he gained management experience at the Field, Regional, National and Corporate levels. This included National Programs, Marketing, and he finally retired as Director Canal Operations for the Rideau Canal.

Irv is very community-minded and always interested in helping out. He enjoys working in teams where he feels he does his best work.

Irv has participated on many taskforces, Committees and Boards, and has gained a wide range of experiences. Some of these positions include Chair Smiths Falls Community Improvement Program, Smiths Falls Transportation Committee, Vice-Chair Smiths Falls Community Hospital Foundation, Chair of the Capital Alliance Committee, Chair of the Municipal Heritage Committee, Board member Chamber of Commerce, and first President Lanark County Tourism Association.

Irv enjoys reading, walking, riding and “tinkering” in his garage. With his wife Charmaine they enjoy spending time with family and friends.
