About the Lung Health Program
RCHS is proud to partner with ConnectWell Community Health in the delivery of the Lung Health Program. ConnectWell-Lung Health and Rehabilitation Program consists of assessment, spirometry (breathing test), education, the development of an action plan and follow-up care for clients with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) or asthma. When someone is referred to the lung health program, they will be seen by a Registered Respiratory Therapist/Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE). The CRE will help you understand and manage your symptoms.
We also provide an exercise rehabilitation program designed for people living with cardiac disease or COPD in partnership with the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Our programs are located in Perth, Almonte, Kemptville & Barry’s Bay. The three components of the exercise program include: exercise, education and support. Participating in the program aims to decrease symptoms and increase ability to function in daily life.
